Learning Works

Learning works can help if you are aged 16 to 18 years and need help choosing to get real work experience, or want to gain accredited qualifications.

This service can assist your development in three key areas:

  1. Vocational development
  2. Functional skills and qualifications
  3. Personal and social development

Learning works will be running the NEW Study Programme from the 1st August 2013. The aim of the programme is to prepare and support learners to progress in to Employment, Apprenticeships or Further Study. The programme consists of:

A Vocational Qualification

  • Mechanics
  • Child Care
  • Business Admin
  • Customer Service
  • Construction
  • Fitness & Sport
  • Hairdressing

Employability Skills

  • Preparation for work
  • CV writing
  • Interpersonal skills
  • Job/Apprenticeship Search

Functional Skills

All learners will work towards Functional Maths, English and ICT, unless they have achieved a GCSE A* – C in those subjects.

Work Placement

Learners will be expected to attend work placements for hands on experience and to develop employment skills.
