Breckon Hill Primary School

We have been working with Breckon Hill for over a year. They were the first school Myplace had closesly worked with before. They hold an after school club at Myplace, one afternoon a week. As well as the after school club, a weekly music project runs, the children to take part in a number of different activities around the theme of music.

Last year, Breckon Hill also held their Year 6 Junior Prom here at Myplace. This was a huge success & we hope the children and staff enjoyed it as much as we did 🙂

The Avenue Primary School

Pupils from the Avenue Primary Shool  have visited Myplace on a number of  occasions over the last few months. Whilst here the children composed their own song about Myplace, and recorded it in our state of the art recording studio. They also filmed a video to accompany their song.

Will – Year 5 was particularly pleased with the whole experience saying  “It was amazing and I loved every minute!”

Keira – Year 3 said, “I really liked the dancing and the light room, it was brilliant.”

The Year 3 children also spent a themed day with us in May 2014, around the topic of healthy eating, the day was called “scrumdiddlyumptious”. The day consisted of cooking on the morning session & dance / drama workshop on the afternoon, before returning to school.

The children prepared their own lunches; homemade pizzas with lots of vegetables & meat toppings to choose from. As a little treat for dessert the children made their own cupcakes and decorated them. After lunch the children took part in a 2-hour dance & drama session with our resident performing arts company – AJ Academy. The day was a huge success and Myplace look forward to working alongside the Avenue Primary for many more future events to come. Many thanks to the Middlesbrough College students & tutour who attended to help the children in their cooking session.

Take a look at how the day went ..
